Gray expands advisory board - adds civic-tech leadership

Boulder, CO - Gray Digital, a human-centered digital services company using design and technology to reimagine how the government serves people, adds Robbie Holmes to the advisory board. 

The Advisory Board comprises individuals from various leadership backgrounds within government, academia, and the commercial sector. Robbie Holmes joins existing advisory board members Dr. Joy Bhosai, Joel Nilsen, and Alex Henry.

Robbie Holmes brings over 25 years of technical leadership experience across civic technology and the commercial sector. Recently, Robbie served as the Director of Digital Services and Software Engineering for Prince William County, Virginia, helping lead digital modernization and driving the adoption of a human-centered approach to delivery. Previously Robbie held technical and leadership positions at Sony Music, Pluribus Digital, Johnson & Johnson, and Google. Robbie also served as a Digital Service Expert at the United States Digital Service, a tech startup inside the White House. He led projects at the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Agriculture.

Dr. Joy Bhosai
 

Dr. Bhosai served as Chief of Digital Health and Strategy at the Duke Clinical Research Institute, the nation's largest academic research organization for clinical trials. She also is the associate director of Innovations in Healthcare, a group founded by McKinsey & Company and the World Economic Forum. Joy holds a medical degree from UCSF, a master's in public health from Yale, is a former Fulbright Scholar (U.S. Department of Education), and Fogarty fellow (National Institute of Health). The U.S. Department of State selected her as a Global Entrepreneur delegate in 2018. 

Joel Nilsen 

Mr. Nilsen is an interaction designer at Google where he applies user-centered and accessible design principles to emerging cloud technology. Prior to Google, Joel worked as a senior designer with the U.S. Digital Service, guiding the modernization of design and research practices at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Joel has almost 10 years of federal experience, spanning multiple agencies and diverse user segments. During his federal service, he notably designed a daily briefing app, enabling the delivery of digital content to President Obama. 

Alex Henry

Mr. Henry is a design manager at Airbnb, an online marketplace for vacation rentals based in San Francisco. Before Airbnb, Alex co-founded an award-winning design firm and two technology startups, one of which graduated from the selective TechStars accelerator program in Denver, Colorado. Previously Alex advised fortune 500 technology companies and served as a design consultant for McKinsey & Company, Tesla, and Silicon Valley Software Group (SVSG), where he specialized in helping companies deliver transformational digital outcomes.
